Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire (February 27, 2010 until Toronto ON). Pointe Claire is an unassuming neighborhood situated on the West Island, which is part of the Montreal island. People unfamiliar with the term tend to think there is a separate island in the west of Montreal but in fact this part of West Island is home to every aspect of the Lachine city. Lachine west. Amanda Brugel grew up on the West Island, and it is commonly referred to as her birthplace. But she only stayed there for a short time. Brugel lived in Courtice, just outside of Oshawa. At the beginning of her life she wanted to be a performer but an unexpected growth spurt made it impossible. According to an article in the Toronto Star, she revealed that she wore heels and was six feet and one inches tall. After I became too big for my male friends, I quit. A lot of former dancers go on to act. In the case of Brugel it was the guidance of her drama teacher at her high school which pushed her in the direction she wanted. A teacher suggested that she take part in an audition for the annual school play. She was chosen to play the lead role for Anne of Green Gables after she tried out. She was given the Fine Arts Talent Scholarship to go to York University's Theatre Program which she completed from the program in 2000, earning a Bachelor's of Fine Arts. Since then, Brugel's been involved in more than 60 shows, large and small. The most notable was when she landed Rita's role on The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel, the only Canadian in the Season 1 cast of the show and seen only occasionally, was the only Canadian.
